François Couturier (° 05/02/1950 in Fleury-les-Aubrais) is a french jazz pianist and composer. He has studied musicology and classical piano. Couturier has performed in numerous groups and collaborations. In 1977, he founded the group 'Impression'. In 1978 he met Jean-Paul Celea, with whom he became very close and has played a lot. After 1978 he has played and performed with Daniel Humair, François Jeanneau, Michel Portal et Didier Lockwood. Couturier was granted the Django Reinhardt-price by the 'Académie du Jazz' in 1980.
